Refund & Returns Policy
At Sala La Mamalona, we want you to enjoy every product you receive from us. This policy explains how returns, exchanges, and refunds work for our salsas, beef jerkys, and merch purchased from salsalamamalona.com.
General Return Window
We have a 30-day return policy for eligible items, which means you have 30 days after receiving your order to request a return.
Perishable food items (salsas and beef jerky) have stricter conditions due to health and safety regulations.
Non-food merch (such as apparel and accessories) can generally be returned if unused and in resellable condition.
A receipt or proof of purchase (order confirmation email or order number) is required for all return and refund requests.

Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
Returns for Salsas and Beef Jerky (Perishable Items)
For health and safety reasons, opened or used food products cannot be returned or resold.
We cannot accept returns of any salsa or beef jerky that has been opened, unsealed, or partially consumed.
We also cannot accept returns for products that have been improperly stored after delivery (for example, not refrigerated as indicated on the label, exposure to extreme heat, etc.).
However, we will gladly work with you in the following situations:
- The product arrives damaged, leaking, or clearly compromised.
- You receive the wrong product or flavor.
- Your package is lost or never arrives, subject to carrier verification and/or Package Protection terms.
- In these cases, we may offer a replacement, store credit, or refund, depending on the circumstances and available evidence.
You must contact us within 7 days of delivery if there is a problem with a perishable item so we can address it promptly.
Returns for Merch (Apparel and Other Non-Food Items)
We accept returns of eligible merch items (such as shirts, hats, and other non-food products) within 30 days of delivery, provided that:
- The item is unused, unworn, and unwashed.
- The item is in the same condition you received it, with all tags, labels, and original packaging intact.
- You include proof of purchase.
- We reserve the right to deny returns that show signs of wear, damage, stains, odors, or alteration.
Unless the return is due to our error (wrong item, defect, or damage), you are responsible for the cost of return shipping. If your return is approved, we may deduct any applicable shipping or restocking fees from your refund, where permitted by law.
Non-Returnable Items
The following items are generally non-returnable:
- Opened or used salsas and beef jerkys.
- Perishable items that have been stored improperly or kept beyond a reasonable period after delivery.
- Custom or personalized merch (if offered).
- Gift cards.
- "Final sale" or clearance items clearly marked as non-returnable at checkout.

Damages, Issues, and Wrong Items
Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives and contact us immediately if:
- Your package or items are visibly damaged or leaking.
- You receive the wrong item, flavor, size, or design.
- Any part of your order is missing.

Package Protection Eligibility
If you purchase the optional Package Protection add‑on at checkout, you may be eligible for a refund or replacement if your order arrives damaged, incomplete, or incorrect.
To qualify for Package Protection coverage, you must provide clear proof that the package was not tampered with by you, including one of the following:
A complete, continuous video of the full unboxing process from the moment you first handle the sealed package, showing all sides of the box, shipping label, seals, and the opening and inspection of the contents; or
Other acceptable proof (such as time‑stamped photos of the unopened package and contents, shipping carrier documentation, and any additional evidence we may reasonably request) demonstrating that the issue was present at delivery and not caused by misuse, tampering, or improper storage after receipt.
We may decline Package Protection claims if:
- The evidence is incomplete, heavily edited, or inconsistent with the claimed issue.
- The items show signs of use, tampering, or improper handling after delivery.
- The issue is outside the scope of Package Protection (e.g., change of mind, wrong flavor or merch size ordered by the customer, or normal carrier delays when the product arrives in acceptable condition).

Exchanges
For merch (non-food items), the fastest way to get what you want is usually:
Request a return for the original item (subject to approval under the conditions above).
Once your return is approved, place a new order for the item you want (correct size, color, or design).
Because salsas and beef jerkys are perishable, exchanges for food items are generally handled as replacements or refunds only in cases of damage, error, or quality issues confirmed by our team.
Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your eligible return (or otherwise verify an issue with a perishable product), we will notify you whether your refund has been approved.
If approved, we will process a refund to your original payment method.
Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take several business days for the refund to appear on your statement.
In some cases, we may offer store credit or replacement products instead of a refund, especially for perishable items where returning the product is not feasible or safe.
